Get Together in Delhi by Nirmal in Verse by Khurana

Our dear Mech71 friend Nirmal Singh from USA arrived to arrange a get together for all mech71 friends located in Delhi. KC on a visit to India from Canada too joined in. Nothing describes what followed better than some of the pictures of the event compiled by Vinod Marwaha and the poem that Vinod Khurana churned out

The whirlwind from the west
shook lions in their den
Sixteen of them came charging
and descended at the end

Mrs.and Mr. Nirmal
Mrs. and Gen.Manjit
They tame and host the  beasts
roaring wild but sixty plus each

Mrs. and Mr. KC
Mrs. and Mr.GB
They lend colour and grace
to the circus in full swing

Gulla and shorty dissect
the favourites in the poll
One a joker and the other butt of  jokes
Manchi bets on his proven horse

VKG wades in waters deep
a lean golf stick lifts far and higher
Subhash attentive and nodding often
Sunil appreciates silently and smiling often

A tall girl torments taller Gulati's  heart
Vij jealous swears he saw no  stars
Pradeep master of machine and hearts
Son of soil true to his salt

Nk weighs every word he speaks
Sharp as knife his innovative streak
Gurdeep's anecdotes and antics please
Nirmal fiils every glass to  brim
and deep
KC has good words for each and all
Marwah in whispers says it all

Mal rings up to take stock of class
House full he finds and speaks to all

'You said it' all and lightened your hearts
Khurana stared and watched as you danced
It's no less consolation to a poet at heart
to hang as a tag on the sleeves of  stalwarts

Nirmal and company we thank you all
What an enjoyable evening it was
Each departed with a grateful yet heavy heart
with hopes and reassurance that friendship shall last!
