Here is one that arrived from H P Mishra one of our dear members this morning: "The gist of what I’ve learnt since my heart problem a year ago follows. Hope it is useful. 1. All statins are quite effective in reducing high levels of LDL cholesterol and increasing low levels of HDL cholesterol. The newer varieties, viz., Rosuvastatin and Pitavastatin are particularly so. 2. Unfortunately, all statins produce several adverse side effects, including low energy, muscle damage (including to the heart muscle!), and liver damage.
